HRM stands for human resource management. It is a strategic function of a company that aims to increase the employee performance. Thus it makes the employees capable to move on the direction of the company and achieve the business objectives. This definition also implies that HRM adopts different strategies to develop the train the employees so that they can perform for the best interest of the organisation- helping the company reach its strategic directions.
In other words, HRM can also be defined as a functional department in a business that looks after the whole workforce development of the organisation. It includes all the activities in between determining the talent needs in the organisation to employee relationship management. This definition shows that HRM is a comprehensive subject because it accommodates the whole human resource development in an organisation.
The primary job of a HR department at a company is to select the best employees who will fit for the activities of the company to select the best employees, it takes different actions. So, primarily HR of a company is concerned about the management of the employees. As a part of that activity, it recruits, selects, manages training and development activities and appraise the employees.
